Ribbon Roses!

I came across this tutorial on you tube that showed how to make the cutest ribbon roses!
So bear in mind that these were my first attempt. I have to be quite big headed & say that they do actually look quite well!!!
This one is a little messy looking!
Photobucket
Then it gets a little neater...
Photobucket
& then neater again!!!
Photobucket
I burnt my poor fingers in the making of these but
I think these look yummy & I am always willing to suffer in the name of crafting!! In this instance it was burnt finger tips all round lol but I survived !!
Photobucket
Very good for a first attempt if I do say so myself ;)

Jackie Mooney's March 2011 Workshop.

I had a wonderful day on Sunday the 27th of March at Jackie's workshop!
I knew I would have though as next month I will be attending Jackie's workshops for the past 2 years & I have never miss a workshop once since I have started going! I work my social life around Jackie's workshops because
1 - I know I would miss something really great if I couldn't go &
2 - It is my day!!
As in for 1 Sunday every month I know I am going to get to create, chat & relax & there is no way I would miss it!!
Here are the cards & Easter basket we made on Sunday
Photobucket
This one was my fave cos we used my fave colour & I just loved the distressed look of this card!
Photobucket
I love this ribbon pin & we first done this at the Newtown Mount Kennedy crafty day!
Photobucket
This was one of my daughters fave's, she loves ladybugs!
Photobucket
This was her other fave! She just loved the little bees googly eyes.
Of course with all the chatting going on I made a mistake but was able to salvage it lol!
Photobucket
Photobucket
This was a lovely quick card & it would also be ideal for an engagement or even a sympathy card (with a different image of course) but this is an idea that will I will use again!
Photobucket
I love the poem in this card but the best part of this card was the flower
Photobucket
which was handmade! I love learning new things & that is guaranteed if you are going to attend a Jackie Mooney workshop!!
Last but not least is the fab little Easter basket we made!
Photobucket
It's the little details like how the fence was embossed so it looked like wood that make you realise just how thorough Jackie really is when it comes to the creations she comes up with each & every month!
Photobucket
Visit Jackie's workshop blog cos I'm not great with a camera so don't do the projects we make any justice.

Whiff Of Joy mouse card.

Ok I just love this little mouse stamp & find myself using it a lot lately.
Photobucket
Photobucket
I used glitter paper on it, I got a few packs from Cara Crafts when the shop was at one of Jackie's workshops but recently found them in Inspiring Ideas in Blanchardstown shopping centre, I should mention I am not allowed to go into that shop unless I have a chaperone with me to curb my spending lol!
I think the glitter paper is super sparkly & is ideal for a little girls card!
Photobucket
Of course the writing was done using my craft robo & although you can't see it in the photo the pink writing is really glittery!
Photobucket
The bow was made using my bow maker, I haven't tied a normal bow since getting this lol!!

Liebster blog award!

So this is my first ever blog award & it came from my newest crafting buddy Yaz! I now have to pass this award on to some blogs I follow.
Here we go
I have gotten so much inspiration from Jackie in the past 2 years & I wouldn't miss one of her workshops EVER! I arrange my social life around Jackie's workshops!!
I get to have a good natter with Ang every month at Jackies Workshops, she is my partner in crafting crime lol & Ang's glass work is stunning!
Dianne is like a crafting whirlwind at times & I wish she would share her mojo ;) I think she might even have her 2011 Christmas cards done!!!!!!
I've met Wendy at Jackie's Workshops too & love her blog & Wendy has the cutest free bear digi stamp
Ok so next I will have to let them know that I
I have chosen them.
Then I have to copy & paste the blog award pic to my blog.
Then I have to hope that my followers will check out my nominee's blogs (eh that's you Yaz lol)
Lastly I have to have fun & I always do ;)

This is the Christmas card I made for my hubby, I loved this stamp as soon as I seen it! I don't know where it is from, I got it at one of Isobel's stamped image swaps at one of Jackie's workshops
It has been on the mantelpiece since Christmas to remind me to take the picture which I only took this morning!
Photobucket
Some close ups
Photobucket
Writing is done with my craft robo, I use my robo & glitter or metallic pens for all the sentiments on my personalized cards.
Photobucket
I love twisting & sticking the tails of organza ribbon, I seen this done first by Jackie Mooney
A card for my cousin Liz's little girls first birthday! Isabel had a great day & looked like a little princess!
Photobucket
Isabel is a big Minnie Mouse fan.
Photobucket
It doesn't show well but the letter's were cut from glitter paper on my eCraft & were super glittery.
Photobucket
The stamp was coloured with ProMarkers, I am starting to get the hang of picking colours that blend well together now!

Bow made with the fab bow maker I got at the Newtown Mount Kennedy crafty day!

Newtown Mount Kennedy Crafty Day!

So it has been absolutely ages since I have blogged but after a brilliant, relaxing day of crafting yesterday I decided I really do need to start crafting more for fun & less because I "have to" so I thought it would be best if I started to blog again so that I can show what I am doing!

Yesterday was a really great day, the first half of the day was spent doing cards with Karen (I think she is a Kilcoole craft club member) & the 3 cards we done with Karen were decoupage, now I have to say i am not a fan of decoupage mainly because a) I don't have the patience, b) I'm not the handiest with scissors & c) it never looks right when I do it but I gave it a go, well I tried with the 1st card & it was ok but on the 2nd & 3rd card I just done it my own way & I was happy with how they all turned out.

Photobucket
This is the 1st card we done with Karen, I loved the colors of this one & that deep dark purple card was slightly embossed & was just gorgeous!!

Photobucket
This is the 2nd card we made with Karen & it was definitely my fave of the 3 we made with Karen! The image is a Lily of the valley one & it is just so much cuter IRL.

Photobucket
Last but not least is this sweet baby card. Just so you know, Karens looked sooooooo much better, I kept messing up & eventually just gave up!!

So after lunch we had 3 brilliant projects with Jackie & I knew I would love her projects as I have been attending her workshops since April 2009 & wouldn't miss one EVER because of 2 reasons, the 1st is because for one Sunday every month I get to sit for at least 6 hours & craft to my hearts content, no Lily coming to investigate what I'm up to! The 2nd reason I wouldn't miss one of Jackies workshops is because I don't want to miss out on ANY of her fantastic projects! For 22 months now I have been going to Jackies workshops & at each & every one of them I have done something new & learned something new. The woman is a genius!!
This is what Jackie had to keep us busy!

Photobucket
This was our 1st make with Jackie, I just loved the vintage look of this one! The papers were delish!

Photobucket
Then we had this "box within a box" & it did have choc's in it but Lily was waiting for me when I got in & wasn't long emptying it!

Photobucket
I didn't even get aa chance to take the photo with the choc's in it lol!

Photobucket
Last but definitely not least is this easel card! I love the stamp on this & it was a lovely fresh card to finish the day! The bow on this card & on a few of the others was done using this & it is just the best little thing ever. I can see a lot of my creations with these cute little bows!
The day was just brilliant altogether, nothing could be faulted, I was kept busy but not too busy to have a little catch up with Angela. It was a real treat to have a chat before our time (a whole 2 weeks early, we won't have anything to talk about now at Jackies next workshop lol!!!)
